Pinning Ports

The process by which a port is created and visualized on the node is called pinning. You can pin ports to a node with the port editor.

You can pin any property as a port onto a node; however, not all nodes can be unpinned from the port. The properties that a node type needs to generate a node are represented as ports by default and they cannot be unpinned. When a port is unpinned, that port is removed from the node.

Pinning is useful when you want to send the value of one of your port’s properties to another node.
